Η Microsoft ανακοίνωσε σήμερα ότι το Xbox 360 Store θα κλείσει επίσημα στις 29 Ιουλίου 2024 και δεν θα μπορείτε να αγοράσετε μετά από αυτή την ημερομηνία νέα παιχνίδια και DLC σε ότι αφορά το XBOX 360.
Η επίσημη ανακοίνωση:
“On July 29, 2024, Xbox will stop supporting the ability to purchase new games, DLC, and other entertainment content from the Xbox 360 Store on the console and the Xbox 360 Marketplace (marketplace.xbox.com)
Related to this change, the Microsoft Movies & TV app will no longer function on Xbox 360, which means TV and movie content will no longer be viewable on your Xbox 360 after July 29th, 2024.”
Παρά το κλείσιμο, θα εξακολουθείτε να μπορείτε να παίζετε παιχνίδια του Xbox 360 και τα DLC τους που έχετε ήδη αγοράσει. Επίσης θα μπορείτε να τα ξανακατεβάσετε στο μέλλον. Οι τίτλοι που είναι Backwards Compatible θα εξακολουθήσουν να μπορούν να αγοραστούν στο Xbox Store, εάν είναι διαθέσιμοι εκεί. Έτσι κι αλλιώς εκατοντάδες από αυτούς τους τίτλους είναι ήδη μέσα στο XBOX Store. Το Online multiplayer δεν θα επηρεαστεί όπως θα παραμείνουν και τα cloud saves σας. Οπότε, βασικά, είναι μόνο το Xbox 360 marketplace που κλείνει τον Ιούλιο του 2024, μαζί με το Microsoft Movies & TV app.
Εδώ είναι η επίσημη ανακοίνωση για τον λόγο πίσω από την απόφασή τους που με λίγα λόγια λένε ότι είναι αποφασισμένοι να δώσουν την καλύτερη δυνατή εμπειρία στους χρήστες μέσω των XBOX Series X/S χωρίς να χάσουμε τίποτα από το XBOX 360:

What has not changed is our commitment to preserving your ability to play the content you have already purchased on your preferred device, which means we are committed to supporting Xbox 360 gameplay for the foreseeable future – and you will still be able to play and re-download previously purchased content and connect with friends.”
